01, Sightlines

Slim frames,
big glass

Aluminium's strength-to-weight ratio is what buys the look: where a uPVC frame needs 70mm of plastic and steel, a slimline aluminium window carries the same pane on roughly 40mm of visible frame, and steel-look ranges go slimmer still. That means larger uninterrupted panes, more daylight into narrow London plots, and elevations that read as glass rather than frame.

It's the right material wherever the opening is the architecture: rear extensions, gable glazing, corner windows and floor-to-ceiling screens. For standard openings on a budget, our uPVC windows remain the sharper buy. We make both, so we'll tell you straight.

02, Build & finish

Thermally broken,
coated to any RAL

Every profile we install is thermally broken: a polyamide barrier separates the outer and inner aluminium so the frame doesn't conduct the cold indoors. With a 28mm argon-filled double-glazed unit you get around 1.4 W/m²K; triple glazing takes that to roughly 1.0 W/m²K, with condensation-free frames and Building Regulations comfortably met.

Finish is polyester powder coat, oven-cured for a hard, UV-stable skin that never needs painting, in any RAL colour (matt, satin, gloss or textured), with dual-colour available so the outside can match the render and the inside the joinery.

  • Thermal breakpolyamide, standard on all frames
  • U-value~1.4 W/m²K double · ~1.0 triple
  • Finishpolyester powder coat, 25-yr coating life
  • Colourany RAL · dual-colour option
03, Bifold doors

Fold the wall away

Aluminium bifold doors are the London extension's default for a reason: 2 to 7 leaves running on stainless rollers, spanning up to about 6.5 metres, folding flat to one or both sides. Specify a traffic door in odd-leaf sets and you keep an everyday door without folding the whole run. Low-threshold options run flush with the floor inside and out.

Configuration is written as leaves-left / leaves-right / traffic door. We'll sketch the options at survey:

3-3-0 · all fold left with traffic door for daily use
4-4-0 · one-way stack clean full-width opening
5-3-2 · split stack leaves park to both sides
04, Sliding doors

When the view
should stay put

Where a bifold gives you the full opening, a slider gives you the biggest fixed glass: two or three panes, each up to around 2.5m wide, with interlocks as slim as 25-35mm on premium systems. Nothing stacks into the room, nothing interrupts the garden view in winter, and the action stays fingertip-light even on 250kg panels. The honest trade-off: you can only ever open half to two-thirds of the aperture. We fit both, and will tell you which suits the room rather than the brochure.

05, Entrance doors

A front door
with a spine

Aluminium entrance doors bring the same discipline to the front of the house: rigid slab construction that never warps or swells, flush modern panels or heritage styles, powder-coated to any RAL, with multi-point locking and PAS 24 security options as standard. Oversized pivot doors and glazed side screens turn a hallway into an arrival. Every set is made to your opening, not trimmed from stock, by our own factory.

06, Commercial grade

Shopfronts &
heavier duty

The same fabrication line produces commercial-grade aluminium: shopfront screens, ground-floor treatments, communal entrance doors with access control prep, and curtain-wall sections for offices and schools. If your project is a business premises, start at our commercial glazing London service: same team, with the specification written for footfall, security shutters and signage zones rather than living rooms.

Prime Fabrication

Cut, crimped & coated in our own factory

Every aluminium frame on this page is fabricated to measure by our sister company Prime Fabrication, factory-direct with no middleman. Surveyor, fabricator and fitter share one workflow, so tolerances are ours to control, lead times run 2-3 weeks rather than the industry's 6-8, and a remade leaf takes days, not months.

That's also why we can quote supply-only for builders and developers: the factory that serves our installation teams will deliver the same slimline aluminium windows and bifold sets to your site.

Questions

Aluminium, answered

Are aluminium windows worth the extra cost over uPVC?
If you want slim sightlines, large panes or a precise colour, yes. Aluminium is roughly 30-40% dearer than uPVC but is stronger, so frames can be far thinner and openings far larger. For standard-sized windows where budget leads, uPVC remains excellent. We fabricate and fit both, so our advice is neutral.
Aren't aluminium windows cold?
Not modern ones. Every profile we fit has a polyamide thermal break, an insulating barrier separating the outer and inner aluminium, so a double-glazed aluminium window achieves around 1.4 W/m²K and triple-glazed versions reach roughly 1.0 W/m²K, comfortably passing Building Regulations.
How many panels can an aluminium bifold door have?
From 2 to 7 leaves across openings up to around 6.5 metres. Odd-numbered sets can include a traffic door that opens like a normal door for daily use. We'll advise the configuration (for example 3-3-0 or 4-2 stacking) around how you actually use the room and garden.
What colours are available for aluminium windows and doors?
Any RAL colour, in matt, satin or gloss polyester powder coat, including textured finishes. Anthracite grey RAL 7016, jet black RAL 9005 and white RAL 9010 are the London staples, and dual-colour (one colour outside, another inside) is available on most systems.
What is the lead time for aluminium windows and bifolds?
Typically 2-3 weeks from survey, since frames are cut, crimped and powder-coated to order by our sister factory Prime Fabrication. Installation of a bifold set usually takes a day; a house of windows 1-2 days, FENSA-certified on completion.
