Three panes on two tracks, one slid open Interlock 25-35mm on premium systems

Maximum glass, minimum frame

A slider is the door for people who bought the view. Where a bifold divides the elevation into leaves, an aluminium sliding door holds two or three enormous panes with only a slim vertical interlock between them, as little as 25-35mm on the premium systems we fit. Nothing folds into the room, nothing interrupts the garden in winter, and the panels glide on stainless rollers even at 250-300kg each.

Slimline sliders

Ultra-thin interlocks and hidden outer frames plastered into the reveal, so open or shut you mostly see glass. The choice for rear extensions and garden rooms where the elevation is the architecture.

Lift and slide

Turn the handle and the panel lifts a few millimetres onto its rollers; release it and the door drops sealed onto its gaskets. Effortless movement, superb weather performance, and a vent-lock position for airflow.

Thermal & secure

Thermally broken profiles with 28mm argon-filled units reach around 1.4 W/m²K. Multi-point hook locks, laminated glass options and PAS 24 hardware keep insurers happy, and every job is FENSA certified.

Sliding doors or bifolds?

We fabricate and fit both, so we have no horse in this race. The right answer comes from how you use the room, not the brochure.

Patio door installation

Fitted properly, certified properly

Sliding doors are unforgiving of sloppy fitting: a track a few millimetres out of level means a door that rolls open on its own or grinds forever. Our installers set the track on packers to the millimetre, square the frame both diagonals, and run the panels dozens of times before sealing. Replacing an existing patio door takes a day; forming or widening an opening adds 1-2 days with the structural work. Every installation is registered with FENSA, so your Building Regulations certificate arrives automatically, and access for the big glass units is planned at the free survey rather than discovered on the day.

Questions

Sliding doors, answered

Sliding doors or bifold doors, which should I choose?
Choose sliding doors if the view matters more than the opening: you keep huge uninterrupted glass all year and nothing stacks into the room, but only half to two-thirds of the aperture ever opens. Choose a bifold if you want the whole wall open in summer. We fit both, so our advice at survey is neutral.
What is a lift and slide door?
A lift and slide door sits sealed on its gaskets until you turn the handle, which lifts the panel a few millimetres onto its rollers. The result is fingertip movement for panels weighing 300kg or more, superb weather sealing, and the ability to lock the door slightly open for ventilation.
How big can each sliding door pane be?
On the slimline aluminium systems we install, individual panes run to around 2.5m wide and 2.7m tall depending on glass specification, with two or three track configurations spanning openings of 6 metres and more. Access for the glass units is checked at the free survey, since large panes must come through or over the house.
Are slimline sliding doors secure and thermally efficient?
Yes. Panels run on multi-point hook locks engaging the frame, with toughened or laminated glass and PAS 24 options. Thermally broken profiles with 28mm argon-filled units achieve around 1.4 W/m²K, and every installation is FENSA certified for Building Regulations.
How long does patio door installation take?
Replacing existing patio doors takes a day, including levelling the track, sealing and adjustment. Widening an opening adds 1-2 days for structural work and making good. Made-to-measure frames arrive from our own factory in around 2-3 weeks from survey.
